BELLEVUE – After more than twelve years of dedicated service to the Washington State Republican Party (WSRP), Chairman Caleb Heimlich is announcing his intention to step down from the position of Chairman. Chairman Caleb Heimlich has been a stalwart advocate for Washingtonians during his tenure. He has tirelessly championed conservative principles, driven by a vision for lower taxes, public safety, and personal freedom. During his tenure the party has raised more than 26 million dollars.
Heimlich has been the longest serving State Party Chairman since Jennifer Dunn in the 1980s. He was hired as State Party Political Director in 2011, promoted to Executive Director in 2013 and elected Chairman in January of 2018. He was re-elected unopposed in 2019, and was re-elected in 2021 and 2023 with wide margins of support. He lives in Pierce County with his wife Mackenzie, and their three children ages 9, 7 and 2.
Reflecting on his tenure, Chairman Heimlich said, “Serving as the Chairman of the WSRP has been one of the highest honors of my life. Traveling this great state, meeting thousands of committed people, working tirelessly with them to help elect great candidates, each moment has been both challenging and rewarding. However, for the purpose of being more present in my family’s life, it’s time for a change.”
Despite this transition, his commitment to Washington State remains unwavering. Chairman Heimlich shares, “While I will be working for a different organization and engaged in a different capacity, I will continue to advocate for common-sense solutions, constitutionally limited government, and more freedom. I am committed to restoring balance to Washington state government and believe our citizens would be better served by more representation of diverse views than we currently see from the majority party in Olympia.”
Chairman Caleb Heimlich concluded, “I am immensely grateful for the tens of thousands of donors, the volunteers, and the dedicated staff who have supported our work. I look forward to seeing the WSRP continue to make a positive impact for the people of Washington State. Despite my intention to step down as Chairman, I assure you, I will never stop working to make our state a better place.”
Chairman Caleb Heimlich’s departure paves the way for fresh leadership within the party, the election for which will take place during the State Committee meeting on August 12th, following his departure. Heimlich, along with the WSRP staff, remains committed to ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of the party’s work in supporting great candidates for local elections this year and next.
